Only a few know about #5 😅

These are the common mistakes for beginner flyers we wish we knew when we started.

1. Flying too fast.
- This causes blurriness and loss of detail. Always try to fly slow. It is easier to speed up footage rather than slowing it down.

2. Flying in a windy day.
- The DJI Mini 4 Pro is capable of flying in winds of up to 38 kph, however wind causes shaky and distracting footage.

3. Flying in low light conditions.
- Like #1 it captures less colors and details. Golden hour is the perfect time to fly, but after the sun sets you'll start losing detail.

4. Flying facing the sun.
- This makes your footage overexposed. Unless you are flying towards a sunrise or sunset, shooting opposite/perpandicular to the sun is ideal. This goes with #5 too.

5. Not using an ND filter.
- Even shooting opposite of the sun can cause over-exposure on sunny days. ND filters are an easy fix for this problem allowing you to shoot on a bright sunny day while getting the most detail of your subject.

Save this for the next time you fly your drone ⤵️

These are simple drone shots to create beautiful visuals without struggling with your controls (great for beginners)

1. Top down
✨️ How: Simply point your gimbal down and record. You can choose to hover or fly up.

2. Still video
✨️ How: Choose a moving subject like a wave, a car passing by or subject walking, then hit record. You don't even have to struggle with your controls.

3. Forward (+subject reveal)
✨️ How: It is simple but may need a little bit of planning. Usually, a tree or mountain is used as a foreground for the reveal shot. Then simply move forward or upward to reveal the backdrop.

Can you believe this used to be a Gypsum Mine?

Now, it is a perfect spot to go for a hike and swim in the lake.

It's one of the most scenic spots near Cape Breton Highlands, and cannot be missed! There's even a cliff diving spot into the old quarry.

We visited here this summer and are planning to come back to capture the fall colors 🍂
