Faros is a desirable region of Sifnos for good reason. The beachfront settlement offers some of the most picturesque beaches, coves, and clear waters on the island.
Have a Beach Day, Everyday – the main thing to do in Faros Sifnos is certainly going to the beach. Paralia Faros and Fassolou Beach are within the village itself. Apokofto Beach is also within walking distance. Platis Gialos is the neighboring beach town, and is also an excellent spot to stay nestled within the scenic mountains.
Visit the Monastery of Chrissopigi – This iconic whitewashed monastery is set on a rocky peninsula and is one of Sifnos’ most photographed landmarks. The coastal hiking trail provides excellent views.

Lounge on the beach – Of course, this is the main reason to stay in Vathi. The beach is clean, perfectly sandy, and is great for swimming. We found several excellent and affordable beach-front bars and restaurants.
Hike up the mountain – Like anywhere in Sifnos, you're always near a hiking trail. The ones near Vathi are a little more strenuous, taking you up the mountains. You can visit some mountain-top monasteries along the way, which provide incredible panoramas of all of Sifnos.
A bus stop connects Vathi to the rest of Sifnos - many travelers stay here then hop on a bus to explore the island.
