A wide range of stays are offered inside and on the border of the park. In this comprehensive guide, we'll delve into the best accommodation options in Khao Sok National Park, ensuring your stay is not only comfortable but also unforgettable.

A couple quick notes: do book in advance, as options are limited and will sell out. The exception are the over-water bungalows. These can usually be booked at any tour company in the main town, at a fixed price of 2500 THB which includes tours. You will have limited choice in your stay, however.

How Long to Stay in Khao Sok

If you book an overnight tour filled with activities, a single night may be sufficient. We recommend staying here for 3-4 days to see/do most of the attractions. Depending on the duration of your trip, you can spend 2-3 nights and have several tour options available each day. You’ll want to stay even longer if you’re looking for a rain forest staycation.

Types of Khao Sok Accommodation

There are different types of Khao Sok accommodation offerings, depending on your preference - close to the main town, river side, jungle vibes or even a floating bungalow on the lake. We have further divided into different categories and listed out the pros and cons. Do note that almost all stays offer tours and breakfast.

Khao Sok Floating Bungalows

Imagine waking up surrounded by the emerald colors of Cheon Lan Lake within the gorgeous limestone cliffs. It’s certainly a bucket list experience in Thailand. Floating bungalows offer a unique and immersive experience in Khao Sok. These rustic yet charming accommodations provide a close-to-nature experience while offering basic amenities. Most floating bungalows come with simple bedding, mosquito nets and shared bathroom facilities. Don't expect luxury, but do expect a unique experience and stunning views.

Most Khao Sok floating bungalows offer all-inclusive meals in the price, and access to kayaks and swimming from your room. They also offer tours, some of which may be included in your room price.

This is connected to the Panvaree Resort, however the rooms are a little smaller. The resort invites travelers to unwind in harmony with nature. You can choose from a budget room to a deluxe villa. Each booking comes with all meals, boat tours, caves, jungle treks, kayaking and more included in the price.

500 Rai Floating Resort is a blissful retreat for travelers seeking tranquility amidst Khao Sok's natural beauty. With stunning views surrounded by nature and a sense of serenity, guests can disconnect from the hustle and bustle of modern life and immerse themselves in the natural beauty of Khao Sok.

500Rai’s bungalows are some of the most luxurious on the lake. They can organize a wide variety of tours for you, or you can enjoy your staycation with a swim and kayak from your room.

Phutawan Rafthouse offers stunning views of Cheow Lan Lake while staying in a wooden bungalow or a capsule room. They offer package tours and stays. Do note that bathroom is communal and

Cons:

  • Basic amenities with shared bathroom facilities.

  • Limited cellphone service; Wifi is usually only provided in the evening.

If you are not able to secure a stay in a floating bungalow online, rest assured as you still have a chance by booking an overnight lake tour to stay in Cheon Lan Lake. We find that this is less offered online but are offered almost everywhere in the main town (even last minute and cheaper online; starting at 2,500 THB). We recommend checking out Khao Sok River Lodge Hotel and Khao Sok Green Valley Resort as they offer tours and bungalows.

Nature Lodges

These accommodations blend harmoniously with the natural surroundings that offer a memorable escape. Guests can reconnect with nature and create lasting memories while in Khao Sok. You'll find cozy rooms, delicious meals and just soak in nature and biodiversity to enhance your experience.

Typically these lodges are outside of the main town within the rain forest. They may offer transportation into town, and occasionally tours as well.

Camp Sites & Camp Hostels

The most affordable Khao Sok accommodation is tent sites. You can camp under the stars within the rainforest, falling asleep to the sounds of the Sok river. The tents of course come fully set up and furnished for you. These won’t be luxurious stays, but you will have access to the shared facilities of the camp site.

Wassana Camp & Khai Jungle Experience Centour is located close to the national park entrance in the main town. Not only is a great breakfast included in the price, but dinner as well!

Painting Family Hostel doesn’t offer tent sites, rather private rooms and mixed hostel dorms. They are located on a camp site in the main town. They are an excellent option to meet like-minded travellers who are looking for access to the beautiful lakes in Khao Sok.

Pros:

  • Most affordable way to see the park.
  • You’ll be sleeping within the rain forest under the stars. 

Cons:

  • Lack of indoor living space.
  • Sleeping on a thin mattress may bother light sleepers.
