We were told that we can't go to the islands we or

We were told that we can't go to the islands we originally planned to go because of the strong winds.

So we were offered to take a different tour, right when we were checking in for the original one. Since we didn't want to waste the day, we agreed.

And good thing we did! 🥰

History buffs must love Greece 🇬🇷

Lots of people travel to Greece for the beaches, but the Greek islands are a fascinating place to explore if you love history.

This is the Ancient Theater of Milos. Built more than 2300 years ago from solid white marble, this theater seated up to 5000 people. Music, theater and events occurred with the beautiful Milos bay as the backdrop.

The Greek islands are home to so many first civilizations that date back thousands of years. You can explore it in different archeological sites and we've seen them in almost all Greek islands wr have been. Greece is full of so many wonders!

Just another day exploring the landscape of Milos 🇬🇷

📍 Papafragas Caves.

A scenic spot 15 mins from Adamas (port town).

You can easily go down to explore the small beach and rock formations from the parking lot.

If you don't have enough time, you can see it right from the road.

✅️ What to expect: limited parking space, uneven trail and some slippery slopes, no fee needed

Where to stay in Milos and things to do in each to

Where to stay in Milos and things to do in each town 👇

1. Adamas (Adamantas)
Things to do:
- Visit the Milos Mining Museum or the Ecclesiastical Museum housed in a historic church.
- Easily hop on a bus or boat to easily explore all of Milos island.
- Relax at Lagada and Papikinou beaches, both within walking distance.

2. Pollonia
Things to do:
- Enjoy fresh seafood at one of the waterfront tavernas.
- Visit the ruins of the ancient Phylakopi settlement.
- Try wine tasting or tours in a cave at Kostantakis Winery - the only winery in the island.
- Take a boat tour to the nearby island of Kimolos.

3. Plaka
Things to do:
- Hike up to the Venetian Castle for panoramic views of the island of Milos and surrounding islands.
- Watch the sunset from the famous Panagia Korfiatissa church.
- Walk to Trypiti to see the Ancient Theatre and the Catacombs of Milos.
- Visit the Archaeological Museum of Milos.

4. Klima
Things to do:
- Walk along the scenic coastline and admire the colorful boathouses.
- Visit the nearby Catacombs of Milos, one of the most significant Christian burial sites in Greece.
- Explore the ancient Roman Theater, which offers spectacular sea views.

5. Find a beachfront hotel
Top beaches with beachfront stays:
- Firopotamos beach
- Provatas beach
- Paleochori beach
- Alogomandra beach

We stayed in Adamas for convenience and really liked our spot. When we come back to Milos, we would probably stay in Plaka or any beachfront hotel.
